Usb Uart Controller Driver Windows 8 1

Usb Uart Controller Driver Windows 8 7
Hi. I am working a lot with CP210x. Also on Windows 8.1. I have no such problems. I recommend to Restart all systems (PC/connected device) and restart process clean.
But by default, installer will set the port to COM3. In that case, I recommend to uninstall.
Then deactivate USB in driver manager (not only by switching off on laptop)
Then install again.
If error still occurs, try to share the error message with us. It is written in 'common' tab in driver manager (like your screenshot > 'General'.
There you can see if it is any hardware problem or driver problem. When it is the driver, check out on another computer with new USB cable (only 1m50 length for testing purpose)
Hope that helps.

Code 10 generally means that the driver could not initialize the com port. Normally this happens because something else did not allocate the port properly.
1.) Something grabs comport N for it's own use, but does it incorrectly and does not make windows aware of it.
2.) A CP210x enumerates and asks windows for what com port to use.
3.) Windows responds with the next open com port which it believes is N
4.) When the CP210x tries to open the com port it can not because it's actually already open.
If this is the case the best way to solve it is to manually reassign the comp port as suggested by tbelectronics. If that does not work let us know and we can come up with some other ideas to try.
Hello I am having this problem as well. I have tried all kinds of troubleshooting from manually uninstall install, restart my pc, change comports, and am having no result I keep getting code 10. I have been working on this for the last 3 days. I have also tried a different PC and still the same result. Please can some one with more knowledge help me resolve this.
Thank you,
Antonio

What does View -> Show Hidden Devices show you?
Try downloading the Thesycon USB Descriptor Dumper and see if your USB port is recognizing the device.
Also, Microsoft has a help topic that could help you point to the issue.
Thanks I will try it, and let you knew if it works.
Also I did try the Microsoft help, but it wasn't any help I can use. That why am trying here.
Thank you,
Antonio

Am not sure what to do with this info?

Is that the device you see added when you plug/unplug your CP210x? Because that looks like an Asustek webcam of some sort:
All am trying to do is plug in a Naze 32 Flight controller USB to my laptop to do some setting and change the config on it. But every time I install the UBS driver 'cp210x USB to UART driver' in the device manager it give me a code 10. Like on my original post with the screen shots. Also when I do plug in the board I get 'USB device not recognized'.

I do see a CP2102 on the Naze32 board pictures I found. Can you confirm that the device Thesycon shows before and after you plug in your Naze is the 1BCF/2885 device?
Go back to the Device Manager, and go to the Details tab, and choose Hardware Ids, and let me know what it shows there for the VID/PID.
I tried the tdd but my cp2130 does not show up on list of devices.
You just need to install old version of driver
This link will help you http://wp.brodzinski.net/hardware/fake-pl2303-how-to-install/Hi,
Am having the same problem with installation of the driver. Here are my snapshots.
Please help.
Regards
- Same here windows 10. Tried changing port, tried deleting old device off port 3 and then moving back to port 3 but always get code 10. No new message in events. Originally I got will not migrate but somehow moved on from that and now get code 10?
I'm also having this issue with the Bluefruit nrf52 Feather that uses a CP2104. I'm on Windows 10.
Tried v6 and v10 of the driver. Tried different com ports. Tried uninstalling and installing different drivers. Nothing works.
EDIT:
I found out that the USB cord I was using to connect the board was charging-only (the data pins on the port were busted). After getting a solid connection to the board, it works.
